Hi!
I just got back from Hawaii and I spent the few weeks prior to my trip, trying to find the perfect bathing suit. Now, I wish I was a Hunza G girl, but these days, I need more support and I have yet to find a ‘crinkle’ suit that works for me. Specifically, I’m looking for something to suck me in, hold me up on top and fit my long torso… all while not looking too conservative/mom-ish. Essentially the unicorn of swimsuits. I focused solely on super basic suits in mostly black and I found a couple of winners! I did a try-on for my mom and didn’t tell her the prices and (surprise!) she still picked the most expensive one!
A. Andie - I’ve actually had this for a couple of years and I like it a lot! I think the spaghetti straps have gotten kinda stretched out but that’s to be expected.
B. Aerie - Ok, so two of my best friends love this suit, so i was excited to try it! I love that it comes in a tall, but the boob situation didn’t quite work out for me. I’m like a size G or something, so if you’re even a D, this could be a winner for you. The price is definitely right! Returned!
C. Left on Friday - this was the winner for me!! This top is seriously so perfect. The coverage was great, the fabric is luxe and I felt lifted. 10/10, no notes. (I wore it with some old bottoms verrrry similar to these.)
D. Quince - I wanted to love this and the fabric is shockingly high quailty, but the fit wasn’t quite there for me. Not enough support in the large and I don’t think the medium would be long enough. Returned!
E. Aerie - This is the crinkle suit and the arm holes were kinda small so I felt like it kept slipping off my shoulders. I have yet to find a crinkle suit that holds me in, but I love the look! Returned!
F. Quince - I was really hoping the cross-back style would be a winner for me, but I felt like the straps in the back rode up too high. Again, the quality was very impressive, though! Returned!
G. Summersalt - So, I got this on super (final) sale last year and I can see why people think it’s flattering. I kept it and I don’t mind it… but it does something weird in the boob area (like it’s spreading them under my arms?) and the fabric isn’t as great as some other brands. I will say that I could have possibly gotten like a 2nd or a sample or something and I like the print so much, I am tempted to order the full price version just to see the difference.
H. Left on Friday - Another winner! I really love this one-piece, it sucks in my stomach, lifts my chest and has good butt coverage, while still having a high cut leg, so it’s still kinda sexy and not so “mom”. It checks every box!
There you have it. Left on Friday was a clear winner, but I’m open to other suggestions!
On shades: I don’t usually invest in sunglasses, partially because I wear glasses a lot and partially because I tend to just throw them in my bag, so they don’t last long. My last few pairs have been Ray-Ban’s which is about as fancy as I go. I decided to try a few pairs by Quince and I was (again) very surprised by the quality! I got these and these and I loved them both.

Covering up: A few terry pieces I love…

That’s all for now!
Be well and well-dressed,
Krissy
