White tops!
+the Zara death pants and ten items that make up for them.
Hi!
For some reason I’m obsessed with searching for white and cream lace/embroidered/broderie/eyelet tops and dresses right now which is extremely out of character for me… I’ve just never gravitated toward super feminine tops, but as I said in my very first newsletter, my fashion motto is never say never! Maybe it’s the fact that school’s starting in two weeks (noooo!) and I never want summer to end or that it’s been 90 degrees for what seems like forever, but I want summery white! Nobody say the F word around here (fall). I’m picturing with vintage Levis and black leather flip flops. Easy.
Like many of you, I started seeing headlines re: the Zara death pants all over and I had to laugh, because they were literally in my cart. I saw one comment that stated that if you’re 5’8 or taller, they wouldn’t be a problem. Naturally, I had to check them out. They arrived and they are soooo good. a very wide leg, very flowy, just truly a pant style that I’ve been looking for. I threw them on with a big t-shirt and flip flops to have dinner at my parents and rolled them a bit at the waist to be safe and thought, “what are people talking about? these are just fine!” and then… I tripped. About 15 minutes into wearing them. Luckily I caught myself on a table and just scraped my arm a bit, but WHAT IS HAPPENING?! It literally makes no sense! Anyway, Abby Arad had some tips for wearing them, like tying a rubber band around the ankles and turning them into a harem pant, which I think would actually look really good, considering how flowy they are. Also, what does it say about me that I heard these pants were treacherous and still ordered?! Something to unpack.
Here are a few items on Zara that I do think are really good:
This top in black and white - I have both. So good.
I just ordered these shorts to wear with the above top.
These would be great work pants
Zara home just has the best stuff like this, this and this.
Ok, off to soak up the last days of summer (break!)… mom’s summer starts soon.
Be well and well-dressed and be careful out there in those pants!

I AM SO GLAD YOU SURVIVED THE GREAT ZARA DEATH PANT FALL. I am cracking up, this is something I would do, too -- and need to unpack. I am always convinced I can defy the odds. When folks say, don't press the big red button, I'm like: but what if I do??!! Also, OK Zara slingbacks. And school in two weeks? I feel ill.
mom summer soon - beach and book date!!
